Rcity is a cross-community initiative based on the interface between the Shankill and Ardoyne areas of Belfast. R-CITY has evolved from an idea to develop leadership skills and opportunities for young people into a wide reaching and multifaceted initiative that remains fully committed to young people living in areas facing issues of conflict, mental health, gang culture, educational disadvantage and lack of aspirations.
The exhibition was born out of a global practice-sharing initiative, where participating organisations exchanged methods, ideas, and experiences from peace-building and trauma recovery work. Through workshops, dialogues, and collaborative projects, Drawing Hope became more than an art exhibition—it became a platform for international solidarity.
